Maoists blast railway tracks in Bihar
Muzaffarpur, Feb 11 (PTI) Armed Maoists blastedrailway tracks between Kurhni and Turkey Railway stations inBihar''s Muzaffarpur district, police said today.
Over 50 ultras triggered a mini cylinder blast badlydamaging the tracks at a place between Kurhni and Turkeyrailway stations late last night, Additional Director Generalof Police (Rail) S K Bhardwaj said.
Rail traffic in the section which was disrupted formore than 3 hours as a result of blast, resumed at 4 AM afterthe railway authorities repaired the tracks, he said.
Maoists had called a 24-hour bandh in Tirhut area toprotest the arrest of their ''commander''. The bandh ended lastnight.
The Naxalites had yesterday burnt seven trucks andsome equipment belonging to a private telecom operator inMuzaffarpur and east Champaran districts to enforce the bandh.
