JK highway closed for vehicular traffic for two days
Jammu, Feb 11 (PTI) The 300-km-long Jammu-Srinagarnational highway will be closed for two days starting todayfor vehicular traffic due to repairs on a patch of road whichwas washed away by flash floods in Ramban district.
The highway will remain closed for two days from todayas a 20-feet portion of the highway has been washed away byflash floods at Kunfur Nallah in Chanderkote, about 135-kmsfrom here, police officials said.
A part of the highway was washed away by the flashfloods triggered by heavy rains on February 9, they said,adding it has been closed for undertaking repairs and islikely to be completed by tomorrow evening, they said.
Men and machines of Border Roads Organisation havestarted repairing work on the highway, they said.
