Goa carnival kicks off on March 5
Panaji, Feb 11 (PTI) Four-day long Carnivalfestivities in Goa, an annual event that is a major touristattraction, will begin on March 5, officials said today.
In Panaji, a committee under chairmanship of MayorCaroline Po has been formed to organise Carnival float parade,the main attraction of the festival.
Float parades are held in Goa''s major cities. The mainfloat for the parade is led by King Momo, a mythologicalcharacter, who it is believed, rules the state for three days.
A local dignitary is selected as King Momo to lead thecolourful parade.
The Mayor said preparations for the carnival are goingon in full swing.
