Fresh cases of HIV/AIDS are detected, says minister
Aizawl, Feb 11 (PTI) Mizoram Health minister LalrinlianaSailo has said that fresh cases of HIV/AIDS were detected inthe state.
The main cause of the spread of HIV/AIDS was sexualcontacts and extra-marital affairs was the main culprit inthis regard, the minister said while inaugurating the AntiRetroviral Treatment (ART) centre at Lunglei yesterday.
Anti Retroviral treatment had been given to 1,288 peoplein Mizoram which included 75 children, according to Dr EricZomawia, project director of the Mizoram State AIDS ControlSociety.
Most of the people given ART have responded well, Zomawiaadded.
