Amar slams Mayawati for failing to secure women
Kanpur, Feb 10 (PTI) Lokmanch leader Amar Singh todayslammed Mayawati-led BSP government for failing to providesecurity to women in Uttar Pradesh.
"If women are not safe in the rule of a woman, thenwhat can you expect in rest of the country," the expelledSamajwadi Party leader said after meeting the dalit girl fromFatehpur who was maimed for resisting a rape attempt. He alsoprovided financial support of Rs one lakh to the victim''sfamily.
Singh also gave Rs one lakh cash to the family membersof a deceased rape victim.
On his attempt to withdraw phone-tapping case againstCongress President Sonia Gandhi, he said "I have apologised toher and today once again I say sorry for my act." PTI ZIR
