Ace shooter Narang gets licence to import rifle

Hyderabad, Feb 10 (PTI) Ace shooter Gagan Narang todayobtained licence to import a rifle under the sports quota asper a new policy of the government.

Narang�s application for importing rifle was disposed offin one hour and it was handed over to him at the Office of theForeign Trade here tonight.

Narang said he submitted the recommendation from theshooting federation while applying for the licence to importthe rifle.

According to the earlier policy, it used to take aboutsix months to get the licence as the sportspersons had toapply to the federation first which would go finally to theforeign trade office via the Sports Authority of India, andthe Sports Ministry.

Narang said that he would import the rifle fromSwitzerland.
