5 NDFB militants, accomplice arrested
Shillong, Feb 10 (PTI) Five NDFB militants, includingtwo top leaders, were arrested today along with a localsympathesizer from Meghalaya�s Ri Bhoi district.
Selft-styled NDFB �commander of the eastern region�Lachit Boro alias Haijong and his deputy Mathuram Brahma andtheir four accomplices were caught in an early morning raid ata locality in Byrnihat, about 90 km from here, borderingAssam.
The other arrested cadre are Nichiram Basumatary,Nakul Boro and Dharmeswar Brahma, a top police official toldPTI.
A local, believed to an accomplice in whose house theNDFB cadres were hiding, was also picked up.
The militants had come from Bangladesh and were takinga day�s rest before entering Assam, the official said.
The two top leaders are believed to have been involvedin a number of killings and blasts in Assam.
