Prisoner escapes from hospital in MP

Shahdol (MP), Feb 10 (PTI) A prisoner undergoingtreatment escaped from the district hospital here today, ajail official said.

Nanbabu (35), suffering from anaemia, escaped from thehospital where he was admitted on January 8, Jailer AjmerSingh Thakur said.

Nanbabu went to the toilet in the morning, but didn''treturn, he said, adding Jail Superintendent K K Kagoria hassuspended Constable Hiramani Mishra, who was deputed to keepan eye on him.

Thakur said Nanbabu, a resident of village Biltukri inthe district, was convicted under IPC Section 307 (attempt tomurder) and his appeal is being heard by the MP High Court.

The jailer said the police have been informed aboutthe escape and a hunt has been launched to nab him.
