Edible oils rise on renewed demand

Mumbai, Feb 10 (PTI) Groundnutoil rose in a fairly activeoils and oilseeds market here today on renewed demand fromstockists amidst festive offtake.

Refined palmolein also edged up further on good retaildemand.

Castorseed bold and castoroil commercial maintained thesurging trend on persistent demand from shippers and soapindustries.

Castorseed futures hardened further owing to strongspeculative build-up on the back of firm spot market trend.

In the edible segment, Groundnutoil firmed up by Rs 5 per10 kgs ti Rs 765 from Wednesday''s closing level of Rs 760 andrefined palmolein moved up by Rs 2 per 10 kg to Rs 610 from Rs608 yesterday.

In the non-edible oil segment, castorseeds bold ralliedby Rs 125 per 100 kg to Rs 5,950 from overnight closing levelof Rs 5,825 and castor oil commercial gained by Rs 25 per 10kg to Rs 1,220 as against to Rs 1,195 previously. Linseedoilclosed unchanged at Rs 710 per 10 kg.

Turning to futures section, castorseeds for Marchdelivery resumed higher at Rs 5,145 and shot up to end at Rs5,259 as compared to Rs 5,115 yesterday, disclosing a steeprise of Rs 144 per tonne.
