CRPF stalker kills national Kabbadi player

Patna, Feb 10: A national level Kabbadi player was allegedly shot dead by a CRPF trooper on Wednesday, Feb 9. CRPF trooper Jaswant Singh was stalking the victim, 21-year-old Manisha Devi, for the last few days and allegedly opened fire on her after she refused to share her mobile number, reports said.

Manisha was rushed to the nearby hospital by her teammates where she was declared 'brought dead.' Jaswant who hails from Rajasthan shot himself and now battling for his life in hospital.

According to sources Manisha after finishing her day"s practice was on her way back, when Jashwant intercepted Manisha and delivered several blows on her and then shot her with his service rifle.

The victim was a native from Himachal Pradesh. Manisha was to participate in the national games, beginning in Ranchi on Feb 12.

Police sources said that Jaswant was admitted to the Patna Medical College and Hospital where his condition is critical.

Patna SP Mannu Maharaj said that the reason behind the killing was not known but investigation had started.
