Brothers arrested in murder case

New Delhi, Feb 10 (PTI) Two brothers, who wereallegedly involved in a murder case and declared proclaimedoffenders, were arrested in west Delhi, police said today.

The arrested have been identified as Vinod (24) andRakesh (28). Police recovered a country-made pistol with 3live cartridges, a knife and a car from them.

"They were arrested from Hari Nagar on a tip-off. Bothwere wanted in a murder case of Rajouri Garden police stationand were declared proclaimed offenders," Deputy Commissionerof Police (West) V Renganathan said.

When intercepted, one of them allegedly opened firetwice at the police.

"They entered the world of crime at younger age due topoverty. Their another brother Bunty is in jail. Vinod andBunty were arrested in a theft case in 2009," Renganathansaid.

Renganathan claimed that during interrogation theytold police that they were waiting for the release of Bunty toeliminate the family of a person whom they allegedly killedand an eye witness.

Vinod, Bunty and other two brothers allegedly killedone Wasim earlier.

Vinod, Rakesh and another brother Dharmender weredeclared proclaimed offenders in the case and had beenabsconding since the day of incident.

Dharmender is yet to be arrested.
