Base metals slip on subdued demand
Mumbai, Feb 10 (PTI) Most of the base metals slippedfurther at the non-ferrous metal market here today on reduceddemand from the industrial users and stockists, despite a firmtrend at the London Metal Exchange (LME).
Meanwhile, nickel and brass sheet cutting rose on renewedbuying from stockists amid higher offtake from consumerindustries.
Tin fell by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,685 from overnightclosing level of Rs 1,690.
Copper cable scrap, copper utensils scrap, copper wirebar and copper sheet cutting all moved down by Rs 2 per kgeach to Rs 472, Rs 423, Rs 500, and Rs 446, respectively.
Copper armature, brass utensils scrap and zinc softenedby Re 1 per kg each to Rs 453, Rs 311 and Rs 133,respectively.
However, Nickel firmed up by Rs 5 per kg to Rs 1,365from yesterday''s closing level of Rs 1,360 and brass sheetcuttings gained by Rs 2 per kg to Rs 322 as compared to Rs320 previously.
