ATM major NCR launches four new high-tech machines
Mumbai, Feb 10 (PTI) NCR Corp, the largest ATM playerin India, today launched four new GSM/GPRS-based machines,including two real-time cash depositors, to tap the increasingopportunities arising from the financial inclusion project,besides increasing footprint in cash dispensation market.
"These launches further establish our commitment tothis market, which by the number of our employees, is alreadythe second largest market outside our home market US," NCRIndia Managing Director Jaivinder Gill told reporters herewhile launching these products.
NCR, which is also into retail, travel and marketingsoftware solutions for the banking industry, launched a newservice called NCR Aptra e-Marketing software. This tool canhelp bankers engage in customised marketing communicationswith their customers by developing, delivering and analysingtargeted and personalised cross channel campaigns.
"We are very bullish about these products and havealready received 3,000 bookings for these models. These modelswill increase our already dominant market position of 47.5 percent in this country," NCR Asia-Pacific Vice-President PeterFrielick said.
Frielick was replying to a question as to how thiswill be possible when many banks are no longer using ATMs as abrand-building tool after the Reserve Bank made free ATMaccess mandatory from last April.
The cash dispensation or ATM market has beenwitnessing exponential growth in the country since the pastthree years, he added. (more) PTI BEN RSY
