TN has potential to overtake Guj, Maha and reach top: NSIC
Madurai, Feb 9 (PTI): Tamil Nadu, the third mostindustrialised state after Gujarat and Maharashtra has thepotential to overtake them and reach the top, according to atop official of National Small Industries Corporation.
V Arumugam, NSIC General Manager (South Zone), said NSIC hadsupported 12 trade expos and 73 seminars in Tamil Nadu thisyear alone. NSIC had also provided raw materials worth Rs 467crore this financial year till January to units in the stateon a no-profit basis, he said.
He said trade and industrial exhibitions serve as a platformfor entrepreneurs and help them market their products.
"NSIC, through its 136 offices across India, helps micro,small and medium enterprises. " he said, addressing thevaledictory session of the second edition of the four-dayday''Indexpo 2011'' industrial exhibition here last night.
The exhibition was organised by the Madurai District Tiny andsmall Scale Industries association.
