Cold conditions continues in Punjab, Haryana
Chandigarh, Feb 9 (PTI) Cold conditions continued in partsof Punjab and Haryana with the mercury settling upto twodegrees Celsius below normal at some places in the region.
The minimum temperatures hovered between two degreesCelsius below normal to one degree above normal in Punjab andHaryana, the MeT office said here today.
In the plains of Punjab and Haryana, Narnaul andAmritsar were the coldest places with a low of five degreesCelsius each, which was one notch each below normal.
While Karnal settled at a low of six degrees Celsius, twonotches below normal, the minimum temperature at Patiala was6.5 degrees Celsius.
Among other places, Bhiwani had a low of 7.4 degreesCelsius followed by 7.6 degrees Celsius each at Hisar andRohtak.
Chandigarh recorded a low of 7.4 degrees Celsius whereasAmbala settled at 8.6 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal.
Gurgaon in Haryana had a low of nine degrees Celsius,which was two notches above normal.
The MeT forecast dry weather with slight rise in day aswell as night temperatures during the next two days.
