Zonal office of Area Accounts office to be opened tomorrow
Kochi, Feb 7 (PTI): The Zonal office of Area AccountsOffice, under the Controller of Defence Accounts (Chennai)will be inaugurated by Controller General of Defence Accounts(CGDA) and head of Defence Accounts Department, Nand Kishorehere tomorrow.
''Suvigya'' the pension enquiry system developed by DAD for23 lakh defence pensioners is also being launched tomorrow, aDefence press release said.
Establishment of the zonal office will drastically reducetime for processing claims preferred by Kerala based unitsunder the Ministry of Defence as hitherto they had to be sentto Chennai.
The release said the first training session on ''Suvigya''launched on October 1 2010 by Defence minister A K Antony atNew Delhi, would be formally inaugurated by Neelam Nath,Secretary, Ex Servicemen Welfare, ministry of Defence.
The traning would be attended by 14 officers from RajyaSinik/Zilla Sainik Board of the state government is beingconducted by DAD.
