Teenaged girl strangulated after molestation

Amritsar, Feb 7 (PTI) A 12-year-old girl wasstrangulated and thrown into a drain after being molestedrepeatedly, police said today.

The body of the girl was retrieved from the drain, theysaid.

The police identified the accused and registered a caseafter getting the autopsy report today, which proved that thegirl died due to strangulation.

Police said that the victim was first molested thenstrangulated and after that she was thrown in the villagewater drain.

Earlier accused Satnam Singh had molested her many timesbut when the victim took bold stand and protested against it,the accused killed her.

After murdering her, Singh disposed her body off andthrew it in the water drain in an attempt to destroy all theevidences of murder, police said.

Police has registered the case against Singh on the basisof the statement of Shamsher Singh, the girl''s father.
