Small sugar firms up on retail buying

Mumbai, Feb 8 (PTI) Small sugar prices firmed up at theVashi Wholesale market here today on the back of fresh demandfrom retailers amidst good stockists offtake ahead offestivities.

Meanwhile, medium sugar variety witnessed a mixed patternof trading due to alternate bouts of buying and selling.

Small sugar quality (S-30) gained by Rs 20 per quintal toRs 2,811/2,851 from its overnight closing level of Rs 2,811/2,831.

Medium sugar quality (M-30) were quoted at Rs 2,853/2,921per quintal as compared to Rs 2,850/2,930 yesterday.

The following are today''s closing rates per quintal, withthe previous rates in brackets:

Small sugar (S-30) quality Rs 2,811/2,851 (Rs 2,811/2,831) and medium sugar (M-30) quality Rs 2,853/2,921(Rs 2,850/2,930).
