Lankan youth, wanted in murder case, arrested in India

Rameswaram, Feb 8 (PTI) A Sri Lankan youth who is wantedthere in connection with a murder case was arrested today whenhe arrived in India by illegal ferry, police said.

Madhura Kamal Sanjeeva Soziyya (27), has been remandedunder the Passport Act and will be deported to Sri Lanka aftergetting permission from the government, police said today.

Soziyya, wanted in Sri Lanka for his alleged involvementin a murder case in Kali district there, was arrested byQ-Branch officers, police said.

Soziyya told the police he had paid the ferry operator,who was from Sri Lanka, Rs 1 lakh in Lankan money, they added.
