Another woman attacked in Kerala train
Kochi, Feb 8 (PTI) Hardly a week after a woman waspushed out of a local train and allegedly raped, a 23-year-oldman misbehaved with a woman passenger on board theThiruvananthapuram-Mangalore Express.
The woman was asleep on the top berth late on Sundaynight when she felt someone trying to embrace her and screamedfor help that woke up other passengers when the train wasnearing Ernakulam station, Railway police said.
The man was found hiding inside a toilet and arrestedby Railway police. A case under Sect 354 of IPC (assault orcriminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty)has been charged against him, they said.
The man was produced before a court here, whichremanded him to 14 days judicial custody.
Last week, a 23-year-old woman was pushed out of theladies compartment of the Erankulam-Shornur passenger trainand raped. She suffered at least 100 wounds and police suspectthat the accused hit her with a sharp edged weapon or stone,which fractured her skull bone and jaw bone.
After battling for her life, she succumbed to injurieson Sunday.
