Ankleshwar firm accuses Chinese Co of duping it of Rs 30 lakh

Ankleshwar, Feb 7 (PTI) A city based chemical companytoday filed a police complaint against a Chinese firm forduping it for over Rs 30 lakh, police said here.

The company, Jay Processing, had placed an orderonline for procuring calcium nitrate of Rs 30 lakh from aChinese firm, Ching Tai. However on arrival of theconsignment,the company officials found that it was simple white powder,they said.

The company had placed an order with the Chinese firmafter discovering that the quoted value of calcium nitrate byit was almost half that of domestic market, police said.

The company has filed a complaint with the GIDC policestation, and the officials have assured them that action wouldbe taken in line with the guidelines of Ministry of ForeignAffairs.

A formal FIR in the case could not be lodged as it isa case related to international fraud, they added.
