Women attacked with blades; police detain 20

New Delhi, Feb 6 (PTI) Two young women were attacked withblades by motorcycle-borne men in Outer Delhi prompting policeto conduct searches for the attackers today while 20 youthswere detained for questioning.

The women, aged around 18 years, were attacked inMongolpuri and Sultanpuri between 8:20 pm and 8:35 pmyesterday, a senior police official said.

The official said they conducted raids to nab theattackers. Around 20 people were detained for questioning butno arrests have been made yet, the official said.

The attackers were on a motorcycle and targeted thewomen separately before fleeing the spot.

One of the women suffered an injury on her neck whilethe other suffered injuries on her face.

A case under section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt) ofthe Indian Penal Code has been registered.
