PM assures global firms of hospitable investment climate

New Delhi, Feb 7 (PTI) Wooing global firms to invest inIndia''s infrastructure sector, Prime Minister Manmohan Singhtoday assured companies like Mitsubishi Corporation of"hospitable" environment.

According to PMO sources, Singh gave the assurance to adelegation of Mitsubishi Corporation led by President and CEOKen Kobayashi, which called on him.

"The prime minister welcomed the participation ofMitsubishi Corporation in infrastructure development andassured that government of India will provide hospitableenvironment for companies such as the Japanese majo, to investin India," a source said.

During the meeting, Kobayashi apprised the prime ministerof Mitsubishi Corporation''s focus on infrastructure, newenergies, including civil nuclear energy and environment asareas of key interest in India.

He informed that the company was aware of India''sregional strategic importance and has particular interest inthe PPP (Public-Private Partnership) model on infrastructuredevelopment in the country.

The delegation also included Mitsubishi Corporation IndiaChairman and Managing Director Keiichi Nakagaki.
