Maya orders transfer of Mainpuri DM during surprise inspection

Lucknow, Feb 6 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief MinisterMayawati today ordered action against some officials,including the district magistrate of Mainpuri, during surpriseinspection of three districts.

"The CM carried out surprise inspection of Etawah,Mainpuri and Auraiyya districts to review progress ofdevelopment works, implementation of welfare schemes launchedby the government, state of essential services and law andorder situation," a government spokesman said here.

During inspection in Mainpuri district, Mayawati orderedimmediate transfer of the DM Sachidnand Dubey for "laxsupervision" of development schemes, he said.

The transfer order of Dubey was issued by the government.

He has swapped places with special secretary, small industriesRanveer Prasad.

The CM also ordered immediate suspension of a doctorRaghuvansh Awasthi, posted at district hospital, for allegedlyextorting money from the patients.

For "poor upkeep" of hospital, she issued a stern warningto the chief medical superintendent.
