AP Chief Minister welcomes PRP''s merger with Congress

Hyderabad, Feb 6 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NKiran Kumar Reddy tonight welcomed the merger of Praja Rajyamof Chiranjeevi with Congress.

"We thank the party high command and Sonia Gandhiji forallowing the merger of the PRP with Congress. We alsocongratulate PRP president Chiranjeevi, their MLAs and theparty for their decision to merge," a statement issued by theChief Minister''s office quoted Reddy as saying.

"We will work together for the welfare of the poorest ofthe poor and overall development of the state. The decisionwill strengthen the ''hands'' of the Congress party in servingthe nation in general and the state of Andhra Pradesh inparticular," the release added.
