17 factories sealed for violating pollution norms by PCB in JK
Jammu, Feb 6 (PTI) Cracking down on the industrial unitsfor high degree of pollution in Jammu and Kashmir, PollutionControl Board (PCB) has sealed 17 small and medium factoriesfor the violations in the state.
The PCB had issued notices under Pollution Control Act tothe 17 industrial units and asked them to install pollutiondevices, PCB officials said.
As they ignored the repeated directions, PCB sealed theseunits in violation of pollution norms in Jammu and Sambadistricts of the state.
PCB has called upon all the units to install thePollution Control Devices (PCDs) immediately and those foundviolating the norms will be sealed, as the Government is veryserious over the issue.
