Justice often remains a theoretical concept for poorer section of society: Pratibha Patil

Nagpur, Feb 6 (ANI): President Pratibha Devisingh Patil on Sunday said that justice is often inaccessible to poorer section of the society due to high fees of courts and lawyers.

President Patil said that the objective of access to justice is intricately linked with the mains and ability of the citizens including the poor who have a right to legal recourse.

"On account of court fees and high fees of lawyers, legal services are unaffordable for them. For the poorer section of the society, access to justice can often remain a theoretical concept," said President Patil during the platinum jubilee function of High Court Bar Association held in Nagpur.

President Patil is presently on a three-day visit to Nagpur. (ANI)
