New UP RLD head vows to strengthen party

Lucknow, Feb 4 (PTI) Newly-appointed Rashtriya Lok Dalhead in Uttar Pradesh, Baba Hardeo Singh, today said he wouldstrive hard to strengthen the party in the state.

"My efforts will be concentrated on strengthening theparty''s base in the state, including Bundelkhand region," hetold reporters here.

Extensive tours would be undertaken across the statefor achieving this, Singh, on his first visit to Lucknow afterbecoming the RLD UP chief, said.

To a question, he said his top priorities would be tofight "corruption and misgovernance" in the state.

"The official machinery is not discharging its dutiesin an earnest manner," Singh said adding there was need for anew alternative in the state.

He would raise issues and problems concerning farmersin a forceful manner, he said.
