Maya orders action against six officers during surprise visit
Lucknow, Feb 4 (PTI) Uttar Pradesh Chief MinisterMayawati today ordered action against six officers, includingdivisional commissioner of Basti, during surprise inspectionof two districts.
"The CM carried out surprise inspection of Deoria andSant Kabirnagar districts to review progress of developmentworks, implementation of welfare schemes launched by thegovernment, state of essential services and law and ordersituation," a government spokesman said here.
During inspection, Mayawati ordered immediate transfer ofdivisional commissioner of Basti, under which the twodistricts fall, for "lax supervision and slack working".
"She also ordered for an adverse entry in the characterroll of the divisional commissioner," the spokesman said.
For slackness in ensuring law and order, the CM orderedsuspension of a Deputy Superintendent of Police and a StationHouse Officer of Salempur in Deoria district.
"She ordered department action against the two and saidthat their services will be terminated if charges against themare proved," the spokesman said.
Taking a serious note of poor upkeep and maintenance ofthe district hospital, Mayawati ordered immediate transfer ofthe chief medical superintendent.
"The CM, who visited Ambedkar village Malwawar, ondetecting poor quality of construction work, orderedsuspension of the executive engineer and blacklisting of thecontractor," he said.
During inspection of Sant Kabirnagar, Mayawati orderedsuspension of tehsildar of Khalilabad and sought explanationfrom the Additional Director General of Police at headquartersfor "poor upkeep" of police lines.
