Dalit woman raped in private hospital, accused sent to jail

Ghaziabad, Feb 5 (PTI) A medical assistant of a privatehospital, who allegedly raped a dalit woman in the district,has been arrested and sent to judicial custody for 14 days,police said today.

A 22-year-old woman was raped by Salim Mohmmad at aprivate hospital in Hapur on Thursday night, where the woman''s3-year-old daughter was undergoing treatment, Superintendent(rural) of Police M M Beg said.

Salim was arrested last night and a local court sent himto 14 days, judicial custody.

Hospital administrator R B Bhardwaj said the accused wasterminated from his official duties after the incident came tolight.
