Woman separatist group stages protest against Sopore killings
Srinagar, Feb 4 (PTI) A woman separatist group todayheld a demonstration here against the killing of two teenagedgirls by suspected Lashkar-e-Toiba militants in Sopore town ofnorth Kashmir earlier this week.
Zamrooda Habib of Muslim Khwateen Markaz (Muslim WomenCentre), a constituent of the hardline faction of HurriyatConference, accompanied by her party members led a protest inSringar''s commercial nerve centre Lal Chowk against thekilling of the two sisters.
The activists carried placards and shouted slogansdemanding justice for the two slain girls. "We protestedagainst the inhuman killing of two innocent girls. Anyoneinvolved in the killing should be brought to justice,"Zamrooda said.
Police said that the two girls were killed by themilitants of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) but a spokesman of thebanned outfit denied the allegations.
The hardline Hurriyat leader Syed Ali Shah Geelanicalled for a shutdown today in Sopore against the killing oftwo girls.
