Toddy movement leader arrested, let off

Erode, February 2 (PTI) Tamil Nadu Toddy Movement (TNTM)President C Nallasamy was today arrested along with six othersfor possession of toddy and let off with a warning, policesaid today.

Nallasamy, who is spearheading a movement to remove theban on tapping and selling of toddy in Tamil Nadu, organised apress meet today at a private hotel, where he displayed acontainer of toddy and said the TNTM would soon conduct ademonstration before the TN Legislative Assembly to press fortheir demand.

Police arrested Nallasamy and six others for possessionof toddy and also allegedly attempting to distribute thebanned substance.
