Patil to inaugurate centenary celebrations of Nagpur daily

Nagpur, Feb 3 (PTI) President Pratibha Patil willinaugurate the centenary celebrations of English daily, ''TheHitavada'' on February 6 at the Yeshwant Stadium here.

Maharashtra Governor K Shankarnayaranan along with threeChief Ministers, Prithviraj Chavan (Maharashtra), ShivrajSingh Chavan (Madhya Pradesh) and Dr Raman Singh(Chattisgarh) will be present on the occasion, its ManagingEditor, Banwarilal Purohit, told reporters here today.

Shankarnarayanan will release a coffee table book ''TheFront Page'' which traces the 100-year journey of the daily. Anexhibition of historic issues of the daily has also beenorganised and Patil, who is the chief guest, would visit itbefore the main function, he said.

The exhibition will be kept open for public from February6-8 at the stadium, the former MP said.

Union Minister for Social Justice, Mukul Wasnik and BJPnational president Nitin Gadkari, eminent educationist Dr DeviSingh Shekhawat and former Union Minister Vidya Charan Shuklawill also be present on the occasion, Purohit added.
