Hindu militants trying to create communal tension in AP: Kiran
Hyderabad, Feb 2 (PTI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister NKiran Kumar Reddy today alleged "Hindu militants" were tryingto create communal tension in the city.
He announced the cases registered against Muslim youthsafter the Mecca Masjid blast would be withdrawn and acompensation package given for their rehabilitation.
Addressing a public meeting in the old city area thisafternoon, Reddy referred to the bomb blast in Mecca Masjid inMay 2007 and charged it was the handiwork of "Hindumilitants."
"Everyone thought that the Mecca Masjid bomb blast wascaused by Muslim terrorists but an inquiry by the CentralBureau of Investigation established the involvement of Hindumilitants in the case," he said.
Reddy alleged the Hindu militants were trying tocreate communal tension and disturb peace in the old cityarea.
"They have created communal clashes last year in the oldcity but we have arrested the Hindu militants responsible forthe Mecca Masjid blast and sent them to jail," Kiran added.
This was the Chief Minister''s maiden visit to the oldcity area, a citadel of the Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen. TheMIM that has seven MLAs in the Andhra Pradesh Assembly holdsthe key for the survival of Kiran Kumar Reddy government inthe event of a trial of strength in the House.
The Chief Minister promised ration cards, healthinsurance cards and other benefits to Muslims "within oneweek".
He instructed Hyderabad district Collector NatarajanGulzar to complete the task in a week.
