Chiranjeevi to take a final call on possible PRP-Cong merger

Hyderabad, Feb 3 (PTI) Unable to decide on whether or notto merge the outfit with the Congress, the Praja Rajyam Partytoday authorised its President K Chiranjeevi to take an"appropriate decision" when he meets Sonia Gandhi in New Delhisoon.

The PRP, however, decided to "work together" with theCongress to achieve its objective of social justice.

"Since the PRP does not have the strength of its own torealise the objective of social justice and uplift ofdowntrodden, we have resolved to join hands with theCongress," party Political Affairs Committee member CRamachandraiah told newsmen after a meeting of party MLAs andsenior leaders here this afternoon.

He, however, did not specify if working together with theCongress meant a merger.

"We have authorised our president to take an appropriatedecision," Ramachandraiah said.
