Badal reviews progress of water supply projects
Chandigarh, Feb 3 (PTI) Punjab Chief Minister ParkashSingh Badal today constituted a committee to ensure timelycompletion of water supply and sewerage projects in 45 townsof the state under National River Conservation Plan.
The committee comprises of Chairman Punjab PollutionControl Board (PPCB), Managing Director Punjab Water Supplyand Sewerage Board (PWSSB) and the concerned DeputyCommissioners to monitor the progress on daily basis, anofficial spokesman said.
In a meeting here, Badal directed the CommissionerMunicipal Corporation and Deputy Commissioner of Ludhiana toensure the timely completion of the 13 km stretch of thelining of Buddha Nallah within the city at a cost of Rs 20crore, he said.
The chief minister asked his Principal Secretary to holda meeting after every fortnight to achieve the target byNovember 30, 2011.
Badal also reviewed the present status of CommonEffluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) being set up for dyeingindustry at Tejpur and Bahadurke road in Ludhiana and anotherCETP for tanneries at Jalandhar.
