Army motorbike rally to traverse 6,000 km
Shillong, Feb 2 (PTI) Marking its centenary year ofservice to the nation, Army�s Corps of Signals today kickedoff a motorcycle expedition that aims to motivate youths tojoin the defence forces.
The Mercury Explorer Motorcycle Expedition undertaken bytwo officers, one JCO and 12 ORs (other rank officers) ofCorps of Signals was flagged off by Maj Gen M S Bedi today.
Serving and retired officers of Corps of Signals attendedthe flag-off ceremony.
The expedition aims to motivate the youth of nation tojoin the armed forces. The bikers would also interact withveterans� of the defence forces enroute, an official releasesaid.
The expedition team will traverse 6,000 km of distanceacross the length and breadth of the country passing throughrugged and difficult terrain and will complete the expeditionat Jabalpur on February 14.
