Amar to launch ''pathyatra'' for separate Vidarbha from Feb 12

Yavatmal (Mah), Feb 3 Lok Manch founder and PresidentAmar Singh will undertake a ''pathyatra'' from Shegaon toNagpur, beginning February 12, for the formation of separateVidarbha.

The 82-km road march is aimed at drawing attention of theCentre and the Maharashtra government towards the long-pendingstatehood demand from the people of Vidarbha, Lok Manch StateExecutive President Mukim Ahmad told reporters here.

A preparatory meeting would be arranged at Nagpurbefore the march where in actress and former SP leaderJayaprada, party leaders Obedulla, Aravind Singh and otherswould attend it and discuss the statehood demand, he said.

Earlier, the outfit had taken up the cause of Purvanchal,he claimed yesterday.
