Opposition seeks ten day session of Puducherry Assembly
Puducherry,Feb1 (PTI) The opposition in Puducherry hasappealed to the territorial assembly Speaker to ensure thatthe budget session slated to commence tomorrow is held for tendays.
A Joint meeting of the legislators belonging to AIADMK,CPI and MDMK adopted an unanimous resolution this regard.
A.Anbalagan,legislature party leader of the AIADMK andthe partys other two legislators Ohm Sakthi Segar and M VOmalinagam (from Karaikal), CPI members R.Viswanathan andN.Kalainathan and MDMKs lone legislator P R Sivaparticipated in the deliberations.
The brief session commences tomorrow with the customaryaddress by Lt Governor Iqbal Singh.Chief Minister VVaithilingam, holding the Finance portfolio, will then presenta vote on account to earmark funds for the first few months ofthe new fiscal 2011-2012.
Assembly elections are due in May.
