E-mail bail order copies to Tihar jail: Delhi HC

New Delhi, Feb 2 (PTI) For expeditious release of theundertrials and convicted persons who were granted bail, theDelhi High Court today directed all trial courts as well asits own Registry to e-mail the copy of bail orders to Tiharjail authorities for quick action.

A division bench of Chief Justice Dipak Misra andJustice Sanjiv Khanna accepted the suggestions given by theDelhi Legal Services Authority(DLSA) and said the bail ordersshould be sent to jail authorities through e-mail so that theundertrials should not suffer due to delay.

The Bench also accepted the DLSA''s suggestion that thejail authorities inform the family of the undertrials/convictsso that they would take steps to meet the bail conditions.
