Youth sentenced to lifer for assaulting girl, killing parents

Rajahmundry (AP), Jan 31 (PTI) A local court todaysentenced a youth to life imprisonment for assaulting a girlwho spurned his love and killing her parents.

Rajahmundry sessions court judge R Niranjan sentencedMatta Rajesh Kumar (23) for attacking Nalla Anush (19) and herparents Nalla Srinivas and Nalla Satyavathi at their house onSeptember 17, 2009 in Lalitha Nagar in East Goadavaridistrict.

Kumar, a college student who lived in the neighbourhood,was in love with the girl and was pressurising her to marryhim.

Since she did not respond, he attacked her. While shesurvived, her parents were killed trying to protect her, theprosecution said.

The court examined 28 witnesses, the prosecution said.

Kumar was convicted for murder and attempt to murder. PTICOR KRK PAL
