Wanted criminal arrested

New Delhi, Jan 31 (PTI) A 33-year-old man, wanted inseveral cases and carrying a reward of Rs 25,000 on his head,was arrested in the capital, police said today.

The arrested has been identified as Istkar alias Pradhan,a resident of Dhaulana village in UP''s Ghaziabad.

He was arrested from Mahipalpur Extension yesterday ona tip-off. His custody has been taken by UP Police.

"He was yet to be arrested in three cases of rioting,attempt to murder, Goonda Act and Gangster Act. For theseoffences, UP Police has declared a reward of Rs 25,000 on hisarrest," a senior police official said.

He was earlier arrested for his involvement in 31 cases,including that of murder and rape. However, he was notattending the court proceedings.

"UP Police has announced cash reward for his apprehensionfor the fourth time consecutively as every time afterinvolvement in the offences he absconds and does not attendthe trial court," the official said.
