Stolen revolver recovered

Ghaziabad, Jan 30 (PTI) Police have recovered a stolenrevolver of a retired BSF Sub-Inspector, following whichfour persons have been arrested.

The revolver was recovered from Kanhiya Lal, who hadpurchased it from Monu of his locality for Rs 20,000, CircleOfficer Praveen Ranjan said.

Retired Sub Inspector of Border Security Force had cometo Modinagar last week to attend a marriage and stayed inMaheshwari Dharamshala at Railway Road from where his licensedrevolver and mobile phone were stolen, Senior Sub Inspector RP Sharma said, adding, a complaint was lodged in this regard.

Acting on a tip-off, police raided the house of Lal andthe stolen revolver was recovered. Monu, the person behind thetheft and his two accomplices Ravi and Kalwa have beenarrested.

All the four including Lal were produced before amagistrate and sent to 14 days judicial custody, he added. PTICORR SPD
