Sandeep Asthana is Sun Life Financial India''s new Country Head

Mumbai, Jan 31 (PTI) Sun Life Financial Inc, todayannounced the appointment of Sandeep Asthana as the CountryHead of Sun Life Financial India.

He takes over from Venky Mysore who recently took over asIPL cricket team Kolkata Knight Riders'' CEO and ManagingDirector, a press release issued here stated.

In his new role as Country Head, Asthana will beresponsible for managing the relationship with Sun Life''sIndian joint venture partner, the Aditya Birla Group, therelease said.

In addition, he will oversee the joint ventureoperations, Birla Sun Life Insurance and Birla Sun Life AssetManagement Company.

He joins Sun Life Financial India with extensiveexperience in the life insurance industry and was mostrecently serving as the Managing Director of RGA ServicesIndia, where he focused on developing RGA''s business in India.

Prior to this, he held senior roles at Zurich FinancialServices in India where he was instrumental in examining jointventure opportunities for the company.
