R Gopalan appointed Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs

New Delhi, Jan 31 (ANI): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the appointment of R Gopalan, an IAS officer of the 1976 batch from the Tamil Nadu cadre, who is currently the Secretary, Financial Services, as Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance, in place of the incumbent Ashok Chawla, who retires today.

Chawla was also Finance Secretary.

The ACC has also approved the appointment of D K Mittal, IAS (UP:77), currently Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, Ministry of Commerce and Industry, as Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, vice R.Bandyopadhyay on his retirement today. (ANI)
