Quarry owner shot dead by Maoists

Dumka (Jharkhand), Jan 31(PTI) A quarry owner was shotdead and his vehicles were torched by CPI(Maoists) atChitragadia village in Dumka district last night.

Police superintendent Hemant Toppo today said about adozen rebels attacked the house of 50-year-old Baburam Kiskuand shot him dead.

Kisku''s sister-in-law was also injured in the firing, hesaid.

The Maoists then set a jeep and an earth digging machine,parked near his house, on fire.

The injured has been taken to a nearby hospital, he said.

Toppo said the Maoists left few leaflets in which theywarned people of similar consequences if they indulged inanti-Maoist campaign.

They also cautioned police not to "implicate innocentpeople in false cases.

Meanwhile, deputy superintendent of police A B Ramrushed to the spot alongwith a force to launch a combingoperation in the area.
