Police Inspector hurt in clash
Srinagar, Jan 31 (PTI) A police officer was today injuredin a clash with an angry mob protesting frequent power cuts inBandipora district of north Kashmir, official sources said.
The clash occurred at Batpora village of Bandipora town,55 kms from here, after a police party swung into action todisperse a group of people who had blocked the main road todemand uninterrupted power supply, they said.
The protestors pelted stones at the police injuringStation House Officer of Bandipora police station InspectorMohammad Khalid.
Khalid was hit by a stone on the head and was shiftedto hospital, the sources said adding he received threestitches before being discharged.
Policemen fired several teargas shells and used batonsto disperse the protestors, who raised anti-governmentslogans, the sources added.
