Idol stolen from temple
Sheikhpura, Jan 31 (PTI) A valuable idol of Lord Sunmade of Ashtdhatu (eight metals) was stolen from a Shivatemple in Kosra village under Sadar police station area inBihar''s Sheikhpura district, police said today.
The thieves stole the idol, valued at around Rs fourlakh, from the temple premises late last night, Superintendentof Police Kunwar Singh said.
A case has been registered in this connection at Sadarpolice station, he said.
According to locals, the four-feet tall idol depictingLord Sun riding a carriage of seven horses was found duringdigging of a pond about 80 years ago and installed in thetemple.
