Goa Speaker''s address to house "boring", says Parrikar

Panaji, Jan 31 (PTI) Goa�s Leader of Opposition ManoharParrikar today said that Governor S S Sidhu�s address to thestate legislative assembly was so "boring" and"direction-less" that he almost dozed off.

"I was feeling sleepy...The speech was boring anddirection-less," Parrikar told reporters in his chamber afterthe Governor�s address to the legislative assembly today onthe first day of the session.

The five-day assembly session began today at Porvorimhere.

"I don�t blame the Governor. He just reads whatgovernment has drafted and given to him," the leader of theopposition quickly clarified.

He said that the speech lost the direction and it wasfull of errors.

"There were attempts to give selective figures inselective ways," Parrikar, the former Chief Minister, alleged,adding that the growth in Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP)referred to in the speech was merely due to mining exports.

"The GSDP has touched 13.03 per cent for the last fiscal.

The growth is only because of inflation and mining exportswhich have grown 37 per cent year after year," the BJP leadersaid.
