Diarrhoea affects 50 persons in Sundargarh town

Rourkela, Jan 31 (PTI) At least 50 persons, includingwomen and children, were affected by diarrhoea at Mahadevparain Sundargarh.

The people living in the area complained of vomittingand loose motion and were admitted to district headquartershospital since Saturday where their condition was improving,official sources said.

The affected include seven persons belonging to onefamily, the sources said.

A four-member medical team led by Chief DistrictMedical Officer (CDMO) B K Kindo visited the area andconducted door-to-door health check-up.

Preliminary reports said contaminated water supply byPHED following damage in an underground water pipe led to theoutbreak. The pipe was damaged during construction of a roadby the local municipality.
